The History Of Rage Against The Machine
Rage Against The Machine first started around 1992. They are known as a band that isn't
afraid to speak out and they are more than the normal play-your-music-because-you have-to
bands. These guys are intelligent, extremely talented people. After recording a twelve
song cassette, over 5,000 copies were sold through the fan club and concerts. To those of
you that have tried this, it is very hard to do. Bullet in the Head became the song they
were mostly known for, and is still considered to be one of their best songs. They ended
up opening BodyCount, Public Enemy and Pearl Jam and did a show at Lollapalooza. They were
later signed to the Epic label and they put out their first CD, the self titled classic
"Rage Against the Machine". In 1993 they toured, gaining more and more fans.
They had and earned a reputation for being one of the most entertaining and intense bands
live. Later, they continued touring and did shows such as the Glastonbury festival and a
benefit concert for the Leonard Peltier Defense Commitee. They raised roughly $75,000 for
the fund. They put out their second album, Evil Empire, and that has made many fans happy.
It is now 1998, and there is talk of a new album in the fall. Check back every once in
awhile for more details.
